Add some 1960s-inspired sophistication to your lounge room with the Zzo. With its caramel coloured upholstery and rich pau ferro veneer, this is the handsomest seat in the house. Made in Brazil with 100% FSC certified wood to help preserve the world’s most precious rainforests.
MaterialsThis chair and stool are made from FSC certified (Forest Stewardship Council) eucalyptus with FSC pau ferro veneer. The FSC certification ensures that the wood has come from a sustainably managed forest, helping to preserve the Amazon and Mata Atlantica Rainforests in Brazil, its wildlife habitats and eco systems. This product is not made from endangered tropical hardwoods. The chair and stool have been hand made and no finishes have been applied to the wood. The base and frame are made from steel, 80% of which is recycled. The seat inner is made of foam which must contain flame retardents to meet British laws on fire and safety. The upholstery options are 100% wool or organic leather neither of which will require additional flame treatments.
PeopleAs part of the FSC program working conditions, working hours and levels of pay are regularly inspected to make sure employees are treated fairly and work in safe conditions. This piece was designed by Sergio Fahrer.
TransportationThe raw wood is transported from the Brazilian coast to Sao Paulo (Brazil) for manufacture, all other components are manufactured in Sao Paulo. The finished product is then transported from Sao Paulo to the UK (approx 6000 miles) by sea and road.
PackagingBoth are packaged in wooden packing cases, cardboard and plastic to protect it during transportation from Brazil. They are then blanket wrapped in the UK (re-usable).
Care instructionsBoth the chair and stool have a life expectancy of 100 years plus. No maintenance is required.
