This stool contrasts the rich grain and smooth surface of pau ferro veneer with the pale colour and textured feel of its woven seat. No finishes are applied to the stool, which means no toxic off gasing in your home. Made from 100% FSC certified wood.

MaterialsThe Taui stool is made using 100% FSC certified (Forest Stewardship Council) eucalyptus and FSC pau ferro veneer with 1% Amazonian vine to make the seat, all sourced from Brazil. FSC certification ensures that the wood has come from a sustainably managed forest and the stool is helping to preserve the Amazon and Mata Atlantica Rainforests in Brazil, their wildlife habitats and eco systems. This product is not made from endangered tropical hardwoods. The stool has been hand made and no finishes have been applied to the wood.
PeopleAs part of the FSC program working conditions, working hours and levels of pay are regularly inspected to make sure employees are treated fairly and work in safe conditions. This piece was designed by Sergio Fahrer.
TransportationThe raw wood is transported from the Brazilian coast to Sao Paulo (Brazil) for manufacture, all other components are manufactured in Sao Paulo. The finished product is then transported from Sao Paulo to the UK (approx 6000 miles) by sea and road.
PackagingThe stool is packaged in wooden packing cases, cardboard and plastic to protect it during transportation from Brazil. The stool is then blanket wrapped in the UK (re-usable)
Care instructionsThis stool is built to last and has a life expectancy of 100 years plus. No maintenance is required.
