Every living room needs a table to rest a steaming cup of tea, a pile of magazines or a pair of tired feet. This table is designed and made by Devonshire craftspeople, from local Devonshire reclaimed oak and Cornish slate, so it’s an ecologically-sound investment for a cosy home.
MaterialsBased in Devon, this design duo create modern furniture designs from locally-sourced reclaimed and natural materials. With clean lines and a simple, modern structure, this coffee table is made from Devonshire reclaimed oak and Cornish slate. The oak is finished with vegetable based oil (no toxic varnish or lacquer is used) and the slate is protected against stains with a non-toxic, solvent-free sealant. Only environmentally-friendly glue is used.
These pieces celebrate the flaws in their materials: the beauty of this slate is in its distinctive weathered surface and the oak in its knots and cracks.
PeopleThis product supports small local and rural based design businesses.
TransportationThe table is made in North Devon from Devonshire reclaimed oak and Cornish slate. All materials travel via road.
PackagingYour table will be packed in bubble wrap to protect them and keep water out during transportation. We’re currently looking into more environmentally sensitive methods of packaging that will protect it just as soundly.
Care instructionsWe recommend an occassional re-oiling of oak using Osmo oil
