MaterialsThese luxury organic sheepskins and goatskins are from various breeds, including some rare breed. All rugs are sourced from the UK and are a by-product of the meat industry. Helping to reduce waste, they give a market value to a product currently classed as category 3 animal waste.
The skins have been tanned using the only organic tannery registered in the British Isles, using an extract of mimosa bark from tree plantations grown in South Africa. No part of the tree is wasted and the tannin process causes no pollution and has no potential to leave any toxic residues in the finished product. The UK tannery is registered with the Biodynamic Agriculture Association and holds Dementer certificate 323.
