Nothing livens up your living room like a splash of colour and these cushions give you five to choose from. Every inch of these bright and cheerful cushions is sustainably made, from the water-based inks of the printed pattern to the soft wool of the filling.
MaterialsThe Mirra cushion cover is 48% organic cotton and 52% hemp. The design is printed by the only Soil Association registered screen printers in the UK, using organic, water-based inks.
The filler is also organic with a cover made from 100% organic cotton and the filling from wool balls, which are certified 100% organic by SKAL (an EU certifying body for organic produce).
Organic cotton and hemp are sustainably managed crops. Hemp helps to revitalize the soil, is fast growing and a good rotational bi-annual crop. It requires no fertilizer or pesticides to thrive as a textile crop and requires minimal water (unlike conventional cotton which is the most water intensive textile crop). Hemp is an excellent crop for creating sustainable farming practices and encouraging biodiversity.
Organic cotton is grown with more sustainable and people-friendly methods compared to conventional cotton. No pesticides or chemicals are used in its production, and through organic farming standards it helps promote wildlife and biodiverity. It does, however, remain a water-intensive crop.
PeopleThe cushions are designed and made in the UK, supporting small local businesses.
TransportationThe cushions are designed and made in the UK and the wool inners come from Germany. We are waiting for the designer to confirm the origin of the organic cotton.
PackagingThese cushions are packed with a degradable plastic cover, 100% recycled kraft paper and recycled paper tape.
Care instructionsYou can plump your cushions occasionally to give them a full shape, but it’s not essential.
