FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. Products carrying the FSC label are independently certified to assure consumers that they come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations.
sliding door faces: The sideboard doors are laminated by material from Polyrey: Polyrey's range has PEFC certification (www.polyrey.com/uk/polyrey/environment,244.html). The PEFC promotes sustainable forest management through independent third party forest certification. The laminate has also been assessed using ‘Crade to cradle’ methodology and has formaldehyde content the same as raw wood.
Birch plywood is treated with natural Danish soap, which is made from coconut & soya fats, tensides, & pigment (white); the legs are treated with natural oil made from vegetable oil components, isoparaffin, & drying agents. Both treatments manufactured by www.ttwoodcare.com (of Denmark). These products meet guidelines on EU toxicity levels but there may be some off-gassing in the home environment.

TransportationTimber purchased from 'Timber Center' (owned by Wolseley plc) in Colne, BB8 8LJ. Product assembled, manufactured & distributed from Nelson, BB9 8AD. Laminate purchased & delivered from Arnold Laber Timber in Manchester, M44 5BZ.
PackagingProduct is wrapped & protected using biodegradable bubble wrap/foam chips; it's then enclosed within a timber crate to give protection during transportation.
Care instructionsRegular soaping & oiling to preserve & protect the timber.
