The exuberant Grammo console is another example of Brazil’s flourishing modern design scene. Made with 100% FSC certified (Forest Stewardship Council) eucalyptus and glass, it is helping preserve the country’s rich and diverse rainforests, their wildlife and eco systems.
Designed by Sergio Fahrer.
This console table is made using 100% FSC certified (Forest Stewardship Council) eucalyptus and glass. The FSC certification ensures that the wood has come from a sustainably managed forest and the table is helping to preserve the Amazon and Mata Atlantica Rainforests in Brazil, its wildlife habitats and eco systems. This product is not made from endangered tropical hardwoods. The wood has received no finishes. Please note that glass has a high embodied energy due to the high temperatures required during processing.
As part of the FSC program working conditions, working hours and levels of pay are regularly inspected to make sure employees are treated fairly and work in safe conditions. This piece was designed by Sergio Fahrer.
The raw wood is transported from the coast to Sao Paulo (Brazil) for manufacture, all other components are manufactured in Sao Paulo. The finished product is then transported from Sao Paulo to the UK (approx 6000 miles) by sea and road.
The console table is packaged in wooden packing cases, cardboard and plastic to protect it during transportation from Brazil. It is then blanket wrapped in the UK (re-usable).
The console table has a life expectancy of 100 years plus and is a real heirloom piece. No maintenance is required.
