Put your feet up in style with this elegant modern stool. Inspired by a mirror image on a still lake, the stool brings together the smooth hardness of Pau Ferro, an FSC certified Brazilian wood, with the comfort of a cushion covered in a choice of eco fabrics.
Designed by Brazilian designer Sergio Fahrer.
MaterialsThese stylish, contemporary stools are made using 100% FSC certified (Forest Stewardship Council) pau ferro wood with foam cushions upholstered in synthetic leather. This chair does require the use of flame retardents to comply with British Standards.
The FSC certification ensures that the wood has come from a sustainably managed forest, and not from endangered tropical hardwoods. As a result, the stool is helping to preserve the Amazon and Mata Atlantica Rainforests in Brazil, their wildlife habitats and eco systems.
PeopleAs part of the FSC programme, working conditions, working hours and levels of pay are regularly inspected to make sure employees are treated fairly and work in safe conditions. This piece was designed by Sergio Fahrer.
TransportationThe raw wood is transported from the coast to Sao Paulo (Brazil) for manufacture; all other components are manufactured in Sao Paulo. The synthetic leather is also made in Brazil. Once the product is finished, it’s transported from Sao Paulo to the UK (approx 6000 miles) by sea and road.
PackagingThe table is packaged in wooden packing cases, cardboard and plastic to protect it during transportation from Brazil. It is then blanket wrapped in the UK (re-usable).
Care instructionsThe table has a life expectancy of 100 years plus and is a real heirloom piece. No maintenance is required.
